Here’s a great story from Michelle Swanson, with Washington Metro Mortgage in Bothel, Washington:

I started in the business in 1994 with my parents’ mortgage company. I got to a point where, in 1998, I’d been working 90 hours a week nonstop and I eventually had a nervous breakdown.

I had no time off, no vacations, and I decided I either had to get in the business or get out of the business. I attended my first Main Event in 1999 in Portland. I couldn’t afford to stay at the hotel or pay for the parking, and I certainly couldn’t afford to join the program. But I knew that I couldn’t afford not to join.

I started by implementing one system at a time with my Coach’s help, and in the first six months my business grew 40 percent. Because of By Referral Only I made over a million dollars in personal income in the first five years.

Becoming part of the community was also about learning to have a life and get balance. Now I take about four months off a year. I just came home from Jamaica, I leave in a month for the Caribbean for 18 days, and I’m doing 10 transactions a month.
