In late 2005 after the Post Office announced a postage increase, we encouraged you to turn this into an opportunity to nurture lifetime relationships with your clients.  How?  By purchasing a quantity of two-cent stamps to cover the increase and sending 20 two-cent stamps to 10 people on your Advocates list, along with a note that said, “I stood in line so you didn’t have to.”

In early 2006 we heard from a number of members who implemented this touchpoint, including Sammie Powell, with Jobin Realty in Woodbridge, Virginia:

“I received three referrals from the stamp strategy.  One closed in January netting $7,125, the second closed at the end of February yielding $10,380 and the third referral closed mid-March yielding $8,250, for a grand total of $25,755.”

Well, the Post Office is giving you this great opportunity again!

The Governors of the U.S. Postal Service just approved an increase effective May 14, 2007 of first-class letter postage from 39 cents to 41 cents.

They’re actually giving you two opportunities to “wow” your Advocates:

  • Purchase a quantity of two-cent stamps, and send 20 two-cent stamps to 10 people on your Advocates list along with a note, as mentioned above.
  • Purchase a quantity of the new “Forever” stamps for 41 cents each to enclose with a note reminding your Advocates that you want to be their real estate/mortgage consultant forever!  Read more about Forever stamps by clicking here
