Choose To Stop Should-ing

Do you ever “should” yourself?

“I should have done it like that.”

“I should be more like you.”

“This is what I should do.”

What happens when you choose this Magic Word?

I choose instead of I should.

You get more personal power from saying “I choose to be on time” instead of “I shouldn’t be late.”

“I choose to price homes to sell” instead of “I shouldn’t overprice my listings.”

“I choose to focus on one project at a time.”

“I choose to work on my business three to five hours a week.”

“I choose to listen to inspiring, insightful information.”

I wonder, what kind of choices are you making today?

I love the concept of substituting “choose” for should. Long ago someone gave me an exercise to do to demonstrate that there is no such thing as “try.” You either “do” or you “don’t.” Sometimes the simplest concept can change the way you are in the world forever. I think this is one of them.
