One Letter = $10,000 in Commissions
Tonja Masina, with Coldwell Banker in West Valley City, Utah, recently shared her success story with her Coach, Karen Doll.
"I sent my first Letter From The Heart earlier this year, the one that came in the monthly Results in Action kit. I printed it on personal stationary, then mailed it to my Top 150 (even though I only had 25 people in there) for a total cost of $14.
"I immediately got a call from a gentleman I used to work with, a person I didn't think I'd hear from in a million years! He already had another Realtor he sent all his referrals to – someone who happened to be his best friend – but he gave me two referrals which netted $10,000 in commissions: better than a $700-to-$1 return.
"He also said how much he enjoyed the letter and how it showed him that I was a real person whom he could trust."

Golfing Fore Fun
At By Referral Only, one of our core values is fun. And one way we have fun is by driving each other crazy at the local driving range.
On our most recent excursion, a cluster of By Referral Only colleagues headed out to a nearby golf course. The 10 golfers didn't exactly pose a threat to Tiger Woods, but boy did they know how to swing their clubs and make solid contact, sometimes even with the golf ball. It didn't matter whether they were hooking or slicing it – everyone was just having fun.
Protecting Your Privacy
Q: Does By Referral Only sell the membership list?
A: No. While there are companies that would like to purchase our membership list for marketing purposes, our philosophy is to protect the privacy of our members. To insure our members' privacy, we never share or sell your information to marketing companies.
Q: What if someone wants the list of members so they can refer relocating clients?
A: The easiest and fastest way to get referral information is to call the Referral Hotline at 800-950-7325, ext. 4, and the first available Coach will assist you.
Q: What if someone wants the list of members to form a Mastermind group?
A: We support Mastermind groups as a way to enhance the By Referral Only experience. In order to do this, call your Coach and tell him/her what you want to do. Your Coach will go into our database and select all the members in your local area and send them an e-mail indicating that you are interested in starting a Mastermind group. In the e-mail, we provide the contact information you authorized us to share, and an explanation to the prospective Mastermind group member of the benefits of joining a Mastermind group. Then, interested members can contact you, and we've protected their privacy.
Another option: Post your message on the By Referral Only Message Board. Be sure to include your city and the contact information necessary for other members to get in touch.
The Tampa Main Event
The December 5-7 Main Event takes place at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida, less than 30 minutes from the Tampa International Airport. Hotel amenities include three casual dining restaurants, and tee times and golf lessons at their four championship golf courses. Local attractions include Honeymoon Island State Park, the Florida Aquarium, Busch Gardens and plenty of beautiful Florida beaches.
