$15,000 to $245,000 in Seven Years
Marsia Powers, with RE/MAX Grand Central in Tarzana, California, remembers what her husband used to say before she joined the By Referral Only Community: “Your clients are more important than me.”

Member since 1997Marsia recalls, “I would drop everything and run whenever anybody called. Of course, that never produced any more business. “Now I’ve set my boundaries, and everything has a time and a place. I block out my Remodel, Results and Recovery Time, and I fit everything into those times. My business starts at 9am and finishes around 4 or 5 o’clock in the afternoon. I expect to be treated like their dentist, which means if there’s a true, honest emergency, I will take care of it. Otherwise, like the dentist says, to get your tooth filled, come in during business hours. I have a life, a lovely business, and a date night with my husband every Friday.
“I’d made $15,000 in profits in 1997, the first year I came to The Main Event. By implementing some of the By Referral Only systems, the next year I made $45,000. The following year I made $90,000. In 2000 I made a profit of $140,000 and last year a profit of $245,000.”

Who Wants to Be a Video-CD Beta-Tester?
One of our projects this year has been planning and designing a new video CD that provides a “sneak preview” into The Main Event. It’s all part of our effort to free Joe from doing the half-day workshops so he can focus more time with you at Community Remodel Days. We’re now ready to test the CD and could use your help. As a beta-tester, we’ll mail you the CD to play on your computer. Your job will be to report any technical glitches you discover. If you would like to volunteer to help get Joe off the road, please e-mail us at cdromtest@byreferralonly.com before November 12 and you’ll become an official beta-tester.
Our New Home
The Florida Main Event
The Tampa Main Event takes place December 6-8 at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort.
