Barry Reconnects and Now Asks for Referrals
Barry Carraway, with Affordable Home Funding in Jay, Florida, recently shared his success story with his Coach, Monica Traystman:
“Immediately after I joined the By Referral Only Community I mailed about 270 Reconnect Letters – and more than 10 people called me. Some people called to say they were glad I’d gotten back in touch after I’d relocated, or they were thinking about buying a house. Others just called to thank me for sending them such a nice letter.
“One person even went across the street to a neighbor’s house to tell them to call me because the neighbors were thinking of getting a loan. So far I’ve taken seven applications with the potential of about $22,132 in commissions – all from reconnecting with past clients.
“I’ve been doing loans for a long time, but I never stayed in touch my clients as I should. At the end of the transaction, 99 percent of my customers promise me referrals, but I’d never ask for them. I’d say, ‘That’s great, send me some,’ mail a thank-you card, and that would be the end of it – they’d forget about me.
“Now I’m working on asking for referrals. When clients tell me they’re happy with my service, instead of saying, ‘No problem,’ I BRAG and use the By Referral Only scripts; I’m not going to miss a chance to ask for referrals.”

In addition, Tom negotiates with vendors for the best pricing for our printed materials, and assures the highest quality materials reach our members. He’s a big part of the reason you receive Results in Action CDs, Client Newsletters and other materials complete and in a timely fashion.
Small Steps for Success
It takes time and patience to build your By Referral Only business. You may have experienced a sense of “overwhelm” at how much there is to do and how little time there is to do it. But there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel – if you’re willing to take small steps, one step at a time, to put the systems in place. How do you accomplish this? Simply call your Coach at 800-950-7325, ext. 4 and identify the strategy or system that is right for you and your business right now. When that’s in place, you and your Coach will discuss the next appropriate strategy or system. Remember: one step at a time; small steps for success; progress, not perfection. If you build a system properly, you’ll take another step toward a successful By Referral Only business.
The San Diego Main Event
The June 13-15 Main Event takes place at Loews Coronado Bay Resort in Coronado, California, approximately 20 minutes from San Diego International Airport. Hotel amenities include three restaurants for casual or upscale dining, a spa, three swimming pools and private access to the beach. You’re also less than 30 minutes from Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park with its myriad museums and other attractions.
