John’s Evidence of Success = Two Transactions a Month
After attending The Main Event, John Diggs, with Simply The Best Mortgage Company in Winnetka, California, made the commitment to send an Evidence of Success postcard every month to people in his database. Soon, John says, he was seeing results, and:

Member since 2002“I know for a fact this has resulted in an increase of at least two transactions a month. “I was a ‘We’ business trying to be a ‘They’ business with some partners, doing two or three transactions a month, managing 35 processors and staff. I realized they weren’t committed to By Referral Only like I was, which motivated me to get my broker’s license and open up my own company so I could be in charge of staff and mindset and leadership. Now I’m right around seven or eight transactions a month. With the systems I’m installing currently I should be anywhere from 10 to 15 transactions consistently by January or February. And I couldn’t have done it without the coaching and tools from By Referral Only.”
Employee Spotlight Of The Month
Congratulations to By Referral Only staff member Henry Buddenbohm, our Warehouse and Facilities Lead, and January 2005 Outstanding Model of Referability. Henry was chosen by his colleagues who cited, among other qualities, his internal and external communication skills, his suggestions for new procedures that are both time- and money-saving, his upbeat attitude – and that “Henry is a keeper!” Henry is dedicated to ensuring that all materials for Community Remodel Days and Main Events are packed and shipped on time so you’ll have the best experience possible at these trainings. He manages all shipments coming into and leaving our Warehouse from office supplies to UPS, and he’s always “right there” when someone needs help moving a file cabinet, unjamming the copy machine, or installing an overhead light.
Henry is a “keeper,” indeed.
Protecting Your Privacy
Q: Does By Referral Only sell the membership list?
A: No. While there are companies who would like to purchase our membership list for marketing purposes, our philosophy is to protect the privacy of our members. To insure our members' privacy, we never share or sell your information to marketing companies.
Q: What if someone wants the list of members so they can refer relocating clients?
A: The service we offer for your relocating clients insures that you have the best opportunity to give your outgoing client a “wow” experience. This is important to you because your relocating client is leaving behind friends and family who will hear about the experience. Here’s how we do it: We recommend you call your Coach and explain where your client is intending to go. Your Coach will meet with other Coaches to determine two or three agents or lenders (both past and current members) who we trust will deliver world-class service. Your Coach will give you the contact information for the selected agents and you can contact and interview them directly.
Q: What if someone wants the list of members to form a Mastermind group?
A: We support Mastermind groups as a way to enhance the By Referral Only experience. In order to do this and protect your privacy, call your Coach and tell him/her what you want to do. Your Coach will go into our database and select all the members in your local area and send them an e-mail indicating that you are interested in starting a Mastermind group. In the e-mail, we provide the contact information you authorized us to share, and an explanation to the prospective Mastermind group member of the benefits of joining a Mastermind group. Then, interested members can contact you, and your privacy is protected.
Another option: Post your message on the By Referral Only Message Board. Be sure to include your city and the contact information necessary for other members to get in touch.
Message Board Tip
The next time you log on to the Message Board on the By Referral Only website, use the Message Board search engine before you post a new message – it may save you time in waiting for a response if the information you need is already posted.
Just click on “Search,” located in the upper right of the Message Board home page. This takes you to a new screen where you can type in your query. A query of “Ugly Yellow Sign” or “APS” or “Top Producer” will net you a host of results. A query such as “Denver” will let you view relocation or referral opportunities in that area. Give it a try the next time you’re on the website and get helpful information quickly from your By Referral Only colleagues.
