Scrapbooking His Way to Success
Joseph Sanchez, with Equitas Capital, Inc. in Salinas, California, is having fun – and generating referrals – with this After-Celebration touchpoint:
"My latest technique 'wows' my clients. I create a scrapbook about their homebuying experience. (OK, my wife creates it, but I help.) The day they receive their keys, I show up with my camera and take pictures with them outside the house, in the kitchen, dining room and living room. Later, I return with the completed scrapbook and we relive the memories and celebrate. "The first time I tried this, the couple kept the scrapbook on their coffee table and asked me for some business cards. Over the next few days I started receiving calls from people they'd referred saying, 'Are you going to make me a book, too?'
"In the two months since I gave that couple their scrapbook, they've given me five referrals. Amazing: A simple idea, a $30 investment and an average commission of $4,500."
